When I saw the Nvidia presentation on Tuesday I got very excited about the possibility to convert 2D movies into 3D movies with impressive results. I was sad when 3D-movie went away so this type of stuff makes me happy. Basically kinda like what happens when an Oculus 6DoF headset tracks controllers and the play area but on steroids.Īnything like this that will make my entertainment more enjoyable I think is awesome. Like looking at something with at least two cameras and measuring hundred of thousands of data points on the visible surface over a period of time to make strain and displacement measurements. Can't wait to get my hands on the new rtx 3000 series. Just look at the GPU processing power increase from the 2000 to 3000 series if Nvidia's presentation is true. If that really comes to pass it’s going to be a crazy time to live with the GPU power we will have in the next 10 years. Where it can analyze a 2D image/video and come up with a 3D model from that image/video that is pretty damn perfect. I look forward to a day when we have software that works just like how Nvidia’s presentation showed the other day. If your method is similar to what has already been done that’s cool too because why fix what isn’t broken right? I would just like to have a decent understanding of how your getting 3D video out of a 2D video and how it differs from technics that have already been done. ![]() Or if you want to explain it in a more technical way that works too.
